LAW: The Standard That Defines Right and Wrong
The Law Was Never Removed
Before breaking down the commandments, we must establish truth:
“Think not that I am come to destroy the law… I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.”
— Matthew 5:17
Messiah did not abolish the law.
He fulfilled it, meaning:
• clarified it
• lived it
• restored its true meaning
“Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.”
— Romans 3:31
Faith does not remove the law.
It establishes it.
The Law Defines Righteousness
“By the law is the knowledge of sin.”
— Romans 3:20
Without law:
There is no definition of sin.
Without definition:
There is no accountability.
The Ten Commandments (The Standard)
1. No Other Gods
“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” — Exodus 20:3
Meaning:
Authority begins with alignment.
When a nation places anything above the Most High:
👉 everything becomes disordered.
2. No Idols
“Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image…” — Exodus 20:4
Meaning:
Do not replace truth with created things.
Idolatry today includes:
• systems
• power
• money
• identity
3. Do Not Take the Name in Vain
“Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain…” — Exodus 20:7
Meaning:
Do not misuse or falsely represent authority.
This includes:
• false leadership
• false teaching
• hypocrisy
4. Remember the Sabbath
“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.” — Exodus 20:8
Meaning:
Time belongs to the Most High.
Rest is not optional—it is commanded alignment.
5. Honor Father and Mother
“Honour thy father and thy mother…” — Exodus 20:12
Meaning:
Order begins in the family.
When family structure breaks:
👉 society follows.
6. Do Not Kill
“Thou shalt not kill.” — Exodus 20:13
Meaning:
Life is sacred.
Violence reflects breakdown of law and order.
7. Do Not Commit Adultery
“Thou shalt not commit adultery.” — Exodus 20:14
Meaning:
Covenant must be honored.
When covenant is broken:
Trust collapses.
8. Do Not Steal
“Thou shalt not steal.” — Exodus 20:15
Meaning:
Ownership must be respected.
Without this:
There is no economic stability.
9. Do Not Bear False Witness
“Thou shalt not bear false witness…” — Exodus 20:16
Meaning:
Truth must be protected.
Without truth:
Justice fails.
10. Do Not Covet
“Thou shalt not covet…” — Exodus 20:17
Meaning:
Control desire.
Uncontrolled desire leads to:
• corruption
• theft
• injustice
The Law Still Stands
“The law of the Lord is perfect…” — Psalm 19:7
Perfect does not expire.
“Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law…”
— Matthew 5:18
The law remains until everything is fulfilled.
The Real Issue at 250 Years
The question is not:
Do we have laws?
The question is:
👉 Are they aligned with righteousness?
Because when law is misaligned:
• justice becomes inconsistent
• authority becomes corrupted
• the nation becomes unstable
Closing Declaration
Foundation establishes alignment.
Builders restore the breach.
Blueprints reveal the design.
Covenant establishes agreement.
Sovereignty determines authority.
Kingdom establishes structure.
But law defines the standard.
The law was never removed.
It was ignored.
Reconstruction continues.
